It’s been a little while since I popped into your inbox, but honestly… life has been life-ing, and my curls have definitely been reminding me who’s in charge lately.

One of the reasons I’ve been a little quiet is because I’ve been building digital tools and creative projects inspired by real-life everyday chaos — and I’ve honestly been having so much fun in my little tech girl era lately. If you’re curious, you can peek at what I’ve been creating over at https://dorisjean.lovable.app/.

But trust me… the curls are still very much curling over here.

I woke up this morning to a birds’ nest situation on the back of my head that had me questioning my entire wash day. It’s those moments where you realize your curls are either thirsty, tangled, or just plain tired of the humidity.

This week, I wanted to pull together the essentials that keep my routine grounded and my hair actually manageable. These are the staples I reach for when I want definition and shine without having to do the absolute most.

Here are a few options worth checking out:

Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel

Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel

If you’re tired of the humidity ruining your definition, the Ouidad Advanced Climate Control Heat and Humidity Gel is a total game-changer for locking out frizz without that crunchy feel. It’s worth it because it creates a breathable seal that keeps your curls bouncy and perfectly shaped even on the sweltering days.

Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioner

Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioner

If your curls are feeling a bit parched, you have to try the Camille Rose Algae Renew Deep Conditioner; it uses cocoa and mango butters to melt away tangles and leave your hair feeling incredibly soft. It’s a total game-changer for restoring that bouncy, hydrated look we all crave without any heavy buildup.

Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair Spray Bottle

Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair Spray Bottle

The Beautify Beauties Flairosol Hair Spray Bottle delivers a continuous, ultra-fine mist that evenly re-saturates your curls without soaking your clothes or floor. It makes refreshing day-two hair much easier because the steady spray helps reactivate your products and smooth down flyaways with just a few pumps.

If you’re using a heavier custard like the Mielle one, try applying it to soaking wet hair right after you’ve rinsed out your conditioner. Working it through in small sections helps define each curl and locks in that moisture before the frizz has a chance to start as your hair dries.

Curly hair doesn’t have to be a full-time job to look good. I hope these help you save a little time this week.
