Most people assume that more product will solve their frizz in humid weather. They keep layering on creams, butters, and oils, hoping for more definition and less halo.

That’s the actual problem. Your hair can only absorb so much, and in high humidity, heavy occlusives can’t properly seal the cuticle. Instead of creating a protective barrier, they sit on the surface, making your hair feel greasy and weighed down, while still allowing frizz.

The real solution isn’t more product, it’s the right product. The ones that actually work with your hair and the climate, not against it.

Here are a few options worth checking out:

Fighting frizz in humid weather doesn’t have to be a losing battle. It’s about understanding what your hair actually needs, not what product marketing tells you.

✿ Lifestyle Moment

The Soft Life Edit

A small moment of self-care, comfort, confidence, or everyday inspiration to carry into your week.

Take time to build a playlist that truly moves you. Choose songs that evoke confidence, joy, or calm, whatever you need most right now. Listen when you wake up, get ready, or just need a moment to yourself.

Quick tip: When applying the Bouclème Curl Defining Gel, use it on wet, freshly conditioned hair. Smooth a small amount through sections to ensure even distribution and avoid weighing down your curls, then scrunch gently to encourage curl formation.

May your wash day rituals bring you peace and lasting definition, no matter the forecast.

Stay curly,
— Doris J.
